Rebecca (Becky) is originally from Albuquerque, NM. She moved to Chicago after high school and spent her time in Chicago attending college, working in risk management for a law firm, traveling the world, and playing rugby. Becky worked as a traveling physical therapist, serving offices and patients across the United States, eventually taking a 6 month travel contract in our Kona office. Becky enjoyed living and working in Kona so much she stayed and joined the Therapydia team full time in January 2020. Her professional goal is to deliver high quality collaborative care to the residents of the Big Island.

Becky’s professional interests include outpatient orthopedics, pelvic health (women, men, & pediatric), pregnancy, postpartum care, contact sports, and chronic pain conditions. Becky completed her advanced pelvic health training through the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute.

Stephanie Colasanti, PT, DPT

Stephanie Colasanti, PT, DPT

Physical Therapist

Stephanie fell in love with the Big Island when she did one of her physical therapy internships at the Life Care Center of Kona and knew it would be a great place to practice physical therapy. She earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of St. Augustine with training emphasis on manual therapy.

Stephanie is originally from Michigan, but moved to the north east coast of Florida when she was 8. She developed a passion for surfing and the ocean from growing up in Florida and spent a few years in between summers coming home from college as an Ocean rescue lifeguard. She also participated in junior lifeguards, teaching kids to surf, taking them ocean kayaking and teaching them the ropes of being a lifeguard. Growing up, she was also a cross country runner and avid tennis player. She has a passion for nature, outdoors and adventure, and after graduating undergrad she did a 1200 mile bike tour from Eugene OR to Los Angeles CA. She stays active in her free time either surfing, doing crossfit, hiking and backpacking and playing with her dog Moo.

Her interests in PT include orthopedic populations. She has special training in movement analysis and treatment of weight lifting and crossfit athletes and runners.

Physical Therapist

Alina DeSousa, PT, DPT

Physical Therapist

Alina graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from West Chester University in 2016. She went on to receive her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Neumann University in 2020. During her studies at Neumann she researched hospital acquired deconditioning and the effects of immobilization on the geriatric population. During graduate school Alina ran her first full marathon and since then has run many half and full marathons. Alina has an interest in helping individuals maintain their physical fitness level despite injuries. While training for races Alina came across many women with pelvic health dysfunction who weren’t given much education or treatment for their impairments. Because of this, she decided to complete some continuing education with Institute of Clinical Excellence on pelvic floor and became an ICE certified pelvic floor specialist with the goal of helping women stay healthy and fit throughout their lifespan.
